Drivers of a minibus and a tow truck were killed in separate shootings on Sunday.

Netcare 911's Shawn Herbst said paramedics were alerted late Sunday afternoon to reports of a shooting on the corners of Northern and Sunford Drive in Phoenix, Durban.

"Reports from the scene indicate that an adult male tow truck operator was shot when a white car approached him and opened fire. "The patient was medically assessed . There were no signs of life and he was declared deceased on the scene." Circumstances leading up to the shooting will be investigated by the Phoenix police, who were on scene.

At just after 7:30pm on Sunday night, Netcare paramedics again responded to reports of a shooting, this time on Eddie Hagan Drive in Cato Ridge."The driver was declared deceased on the scene and an adult female passenger sustained minor injuries when the taxi rolled down an embankment."
