The latest inflation figures have been released by the Office for National Statistics and has indicated a promising drop towards normality.
In December, inflation was marked at 10.5 per cent while January saw a 0.4 per cent drop, bringing it down to 10.1 per cent. According to data from the ONS. this inflation was driven by some items in particular. For example, the cost of low-fat milk rose more than any other category in the 12 months leading to January. Food as a whole was in fact one of the categories which saw the sharpest rises in price.Despite this, there are some areas where prices decreased, including second-hand cars and personal computers. Here's a breakdown of all the everyday items which have both increased and decreased in price over the 12 months leading up to January 2023.
