A pedestrian was killed after walking into a Northwest Side access road. A driver died in a single-car accident on the Southwest Side.
Two people are dead after two separate accidents on access roads Friday evening and early Saturday.
The first accident occurred about 9:45 p.m. Friday in the 19000 block of the Interstate 10 West access road on the Northwest Side. A man walked into the left lane and was struck by a Ford pickup, throwing him to the ground, according to a preliminary police report.The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. He didn't have any identification on him, police said.About six hours later, on the Southwest Side, a driver in a Chevy Comanche died in a single-vehicle accident.
The driver lost control of the pickup and it crashed into the left concrete retainer in the 6900 block of the Southwest Loop 410 access road about 4 a.m. Saturday, according to a preliminary report. Police said the pickup slid on the retainer and then rolled over multiple times.
