Out of 6,400 entries, two B.C. photographers topped the list.

Canadian Geographic has announced the winners of the Canadian Photos of the Year competition and two people from British Columbia took home second place.

Alexandra Pope, editor-in-chief at Canadian Geographic, says great photography comes down to a combination of location, timing and skill. There were four categories: epic landscapes; wildlife in action; city life; and weather, seasons and sky.
