The baby was found with severe facial burns, as well as burns on her upper and lower body that Sheriff Salazar said likely occurred from liquid that was either poured or spilled onto her on Friday, November 3. The sheriff said that on Friday, Mann called the baby's father, saying she needed burn ointment because a pot of boiling water on the stove somehow spilled onto the baby. The sheriff said that on Saturday, November 4, when the baby woke up, they pulled the sheets off her and her skin came off of with the sheets.
