Twitter restricted a tweet from the Florida surgeon general on Friday — only to reinstate it Sunday.
"Today, we released an analysis on COVID-19 mRNA vaccines the public needs to be aware of," Dr. Joseph Ladapo's restricted tweet read."This analysis showed an increased risk of cardiac-related death among men 18-39. FL will not be silent on the truth." Ladapo was referencing new guidance released by the state Health Department, which cautioned younger males against getting the COVID-19 mRNA vaccine.
The social media platform has come under fire in recent years over its content moderation policies, which conservative critics have accused of being biased toward liberal users and causes. The site appears slated for a takeover by billionaire Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk, who has said he will alter the current content moderation rules in favor of an approach that protects free speech.
