Mark Williams-Thomas, a former police detective, flew out to Tenerife to help in the search for Jay Slater, 19
An investigator who travelled to Tenerife to assist in the search for Jay Slater prior to the discovery of a body has stated he will address the surrounding speculation "in due course."
Former Metropolitan Police detective Mark Williams-Thomas, who supported Jay's family in the early stages of their search, took to social media to announce his intention to speak on the matter soon. His post read: "Being asked to do a video to address some of the speculation that continues to circle around the very sad case of Jay Slater. I will do a video in due course when the time is right.
During the call, he mentioned that his phone was almost drained with only 1% battery left and expressed his need for a drink. Tragically, this was the last time anyone would ever see him alive.
