Davis was indicted on one count of open murder with use of a deadly weapon.

Duane Davis, a former gang member charged in the 1996 murder of hip-hop star Tupac Shakur, is led into the courtroom during his arraignment at the Regional Justice Center in Las Vegas, Oct. 4, 2023.Davis -- who was handcuffed and dressed in a blue jumpsuit -- said in Las Vegas court on Thursday that he had not retained his own counsel. He was appointed a public defender and waived his right to a speedy trial. He is next scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 7.
