The ‘downtown U’ from St. George through Union to Bloor-Yonge stations is expected to have service, including 911 coverage, by fall 2023, according to the latest TTC CEO report released Thursday.

The jousting recently made its way to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission,

after Bell asked the regulator for an urgent hearing to stop Rogers from moving ahead with providing customers access to the network before a deal is struck. “Rogers cannot be allowed to entrench itself as the sole gatekeeper of wireless access in the subway ... already Rogers is using this position to reduce consumer choice and increase costs for its competitors,” Bell claimed in their application. This was strongly denied by Rogers which has suggested entering a binding arbitration process next month.
