The DA-led multiparty coalition in Tshwane had written to ActionSA, giving it until Sunday midnight to indicate whether it is still part of the coalition or not.

TSHWANE - ActionSA in Tshwane has not responded to an ultimatum by its political partners to either recommit to the governing coalition or exit from it.

The Democratic Alliance -led multiparty coalition in Tshwane had written to ActionSA, giving it until Sunday midnight to indicate whether it is still part of the coalition or not.ActionSA's Gauteng leadership denies suggestions it has left DA-led coalition in TshwaneHowever, ActionSA has not recommitted. Instead, it wrote to the coalition saying it is still in a review process that will determine whether it stays in the current government or moves on.

Joint caucus chairperson and DA councillor Jacqui Uys said ActionSA has not provided formal notice that it wants out of the pact. “The letter basically boiled down to them saying they will give us notice when they feel like giving us notice. Unfortunately, and subsequently yesterday , we learned in the media that ActionSA have indeed made their intentions clear to leave the coalition and the rest of the parties will have to reconvene to see what our next step will be.”

The dispute among the coalition partners comes two weeks before council votes on an African National Congress -sponsored motion of no confidence against Mayor Cilliers Brink.
