DRC-born Sharks loose forward Vincent Tshituka has his sights set on the Springboks, saying representing South Africa “would be the highest honour”.

Currently sidelined with a shoulder injury, the 26-year-old powerhouse shared both his personal goals and the Sharks’ future in an interview with Sunday newspaper “To pull on the green and gold will remain a dream until the day I hang up my boots,” said Tshituka. “Considering my background as a foreigner and the fact that I did not go to a traditional rugby school, it’s overwhelming.Since joining the Sharks from the Lions in 2022, Tshituka has become a cornerstone of their forward pack with his powerful carries and breakdown prowess.

“Plum and his management have created a culture of genuine connectedness. We’ve built love and compassion for each other, and the sense of togetherness is special,” Tshituka said. Reflecting on their Currie Cup title triumph in 2024, he adds, “It was massive and epitomised the character of this group. Winning the Currie Cup was a dream come true.”
