“We hosted a variety of events, programs, and activities,” she said, listing a few of them as examples, including pickleball, the local Pride Parade, Parent-Tot Drop-ins, and group bike rides.
Summerside took home top honours from the nationwide physical activity competition, ParticipACTION Community Better Challenge, which encourages everyone in Canada to get active in June. Contributed “Josh has done a terrific job at engaging partners and spreading the word about getting active and using the ParticipACTION app,” Burgess said. “He definitely has given the Town of Truro and the Municipality of Colchester some plans on how to engage our community better and use technology to our benefit.”“I think this is great not just because it shows how our community searches for ways to be active and engaged, but because it showed this has been an active community all along,” he said.
