As he spoke of Omar, who was born in Somalia but moved to the U.S. as a child, the crowd began chanting “send her back.” The House Of Representatives swiftly moved to condemn those tweets as racist, adding the language has “legitimised and increased fear and hatred of new Americans and people of colour.”from Maya Angelou’s poem Still I Rise, including the words: “You may kill me with your hatefulness, but still, like air, I’ll rise.”
