The new survey shows greater vaccine hesitancy among Republicans than Democrats or independents.
Fifty-eight percent of voters who are not fully vaccinated plan to vote for Trump should he run for president again in 2024—opposed to only 15 percent who plan to vote for Biden, according to the poll. Meanwhile, another 27 percent of unvaccinated people said they are not sure who they'd vote for.
Despite Trump's big win among the unvaccinated, Biden would still beat him by about four points among all voters, the poll found. Forty-one percent of all voters said they'd back Biden, while 37 percent said they'd vote for the former president. Biden's hypothetical win is in part fueled by a significant lead among fully vaccinated voters—who made up 69 percent of respondents. He won 55 percent of those who are fully vaccinated, while Trump won 27 percent, according to the poll.
The poll found similar results for the 2022 midterm elections. Democratic House candidates led their GOP counterparts by three points—36 percent to 33 percent—but unvaccinated voters backed the GOP by 31 points. Meanwhile, Democrats won vaccinated voters by 21 points. The poll surveyed 1,623 U.S. adults from March 11 to 14 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.7 percent.
