Donald Trump has made his endorsements to lead the Republican National Committee forward, with one of them coming from his own family.
Donald Trump’s support for Whatley, who currently serves as the RNC’s general counsel, comes after the former president said he expected changes at the committee. McDaniel reportedly told Donald Trump during a private meeting recently that she would step down from her role in the party. The former president’s allies have sought to push her out as concerns have grown over the national party’s finances.
“The RNC MUST be a good partner in the Presidential election. It must do the work we expect from the national Party and do it flawlessly,” Donald Trump said in a statement Monday evening.
The former president added that Lara Trump has agreed to run as the committee’s co-chairwoman, a role currently held by McKissick.
