The Washington Examiner’s Sarah Bedford said that both candidates face their own issues in convincing voters to support them.
Biden, 81, is seeking reelection this November, making him the oldest president to ever run for reelection. Bedford, an investigative editor for the“So I think that is an issue for Joe Biden, and also it’s an issue that Joe Biden can’t fix,” Bedford said on. “It’s pretty clear that voters have made up their mind on this. No matter how many convictions Trump faces, how much money Joe Biden spends, this is an unfixable problem for Joe Biden.
“I think a very small segment of the electorate who might change their mind; we just don’t know how powerful this is going to be when the election is still five months after the conviction,” Bedford said. Trump, the presumptive nominee for the Republican Party, has received a massive spike in financial donations in the wake of his verdict, with the Trump campaign announcing Monday thatalongside the Republican National Committee last month. Biden himself has sought to fundraise off the verdict of Trump, posting on X a link for where people can donate to his campaign.
