This is the fourth and by far the most wide-ranging set of criminal charges Trump faces as he seeks to reclaim the Oval Office in 2024. More ⬇️

A grand jury in Georgia has indicted former President Donald Trump and numerous allies on racketeering charges for a sweeping attempt to corrupt the 2020 election by subverting Joe Biden’s victory in that state.

Willis charged the group with orchestrating a sprawling effort to disrupt the election, including by submitting false slates of presidential electors to Congress, making false representations to courts, misusing the power of the Justice Department and pressuring then-Vice President Mike Pence to overturn the election himself.

The indictments were expected to be unsealed Monday night, but no details about who was charged or for what alleged crimes was available deep into the evening. It was not clear if all 10 indictments pertained to the Trump investigation. Though the precise range of charges and defendants is not clear, Trump is widely expected to be at the center of the criminal case, which could include sprawling racketeering allegations.
