Trump administration is discontinuing research within the National Institutes of Health involving the use of human fetal tissue from new elective abortions

The Trump administration moved to curtail the use of human fetal tissue in government-funded research.

It said Wednesday that tissue from new elective abortions would no longer be used in research within the National Institutes of Health. An ethics advisory board will also review any new grants for fetal tissue research that is funded by NIH but done by universities or groups outside the agency, officials said.
