Reports emerged early this morning that the planned national shutdown, called for by All Truck Drivers Forum and Allied South Africa was called off at the eleventh hour.According to reports, the planned national shutdown was temporarily halted following a meeting with relevant stakeholders, yesterday.
SA Trucker reported on X that the forum urged all its members to refrain from any illegal activity, ‘and expressed hope that government departments would uphold their commitment to intensify inspections and enforcement of compliance regulations’.The Witness reports ATDF ASA secretary general Gugu Sokhela told the publication that their leadership urged all members to refrain from any illegal actions and expressed hope that government departments would uphold their commitment.
