A truck driver died Thursday after a three-vehicle crash in Gloucester County that left another driver seriously injured, police said.
Richard Lupton, 62, of the Newport section of Downe Township, was driving a truck pulling a trailer east on Malaga Road in Monroe Township when a car drifted into oncoming traffic and collided the truck near Morgan Road, police said. The truck then swerved into the oncoming lane and hit an SUV on the driver’s side before continuing off the road and slamming into a tree, police said.The 30-year-old Camden resident who was driving the car that initially hit the truck was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital with serious injuries, police said.
The SUV driver, a 27-year-old Millville woman, was also hospitalized. Her condition was not immediately available.Please subscribe now and support the local journalism you rely on and trust.
