Two of four men charged with murder in the 2018 death of a Chestermere resident will stand trial in the New Year.
Lawyers for Richard Michael Sikora and Jacob Tolchinsky appeared in Court of Queen’s Bench Thursday to schedule a three-week jury trial for their clients.
Serink said because both men are charged with first-degree murder the case must proceed before a jury unless the prosecution consents to a re-election to a judge sitting alone.Perrin said the prosecution requires three weeks for their case. Both Sikora and Tolchinsky are charged in connection with the Nov. 26, 2018, shooting death of 41-year-old Dennis Lewis.
