The Crown alleges that around 1 a.m. on July 20, 2015, the accused went into the basement and started a fire. The Crown began its case by calling Master Cpl. Evan Hensing, a military police investigator, who produced the alleged suicide note from a plastic envelope in his briefcase. Hensing also obtained banking records on the accused’s spending, which were entered as evidence.Article content
