A 19-year-old woman, Regan Laffin, was killed in the single-vehicle collision that happened July 16, 2020, on Egypt Rd. in Hillside. “The reality is that dockets or lead times get extended when courts are on recess or shutdown,” Tufts said. “The shutdowns in 2020 and the first part of 2021 extended the lead times because the court schedule for these periods got pushed out.”
“Had the COVID pandemic not occurred this court would have been able to schedule well within the 18-month Jordan delay,” he said.
