KOTA TINGGI: A 61-year-old lorry driver who was trapped in a flash flood in Sungai Lebam, Penawar here was rescued by firefighters.
Penawar Fire and Rescue Station Operations Commander Abd Rahim Abd Rani said they received an emergency call regarding the incident at 7.52am on Wednesday .
He said four firefighters assisted by the Emergency Medical Rescue Service , immediately went to the scene of the incident to help the victim. "When the firefighters arrived at the location, they found a man trapped in a lorry due to a 1.2- metres high flood."It is understood that the driver tried to drive through the flooded area causing the lorry to get stuck in the middle of the road," he said in a statement on Wednesday ."The victim was successfully evacuated and is in a safe condition.
