According to TransLink, no one signed up to participate, but they are still looking to partner with other businesses.
A TransLink pilot project aimed at getting Seaspan employees to share rides to work was scrapped due to a lack of interest.
TransLink had heard from mayors across the region that there were a number of areas that were hard to get to using existing transit services, such as Seaspan’s North Vancouver yard. For instance, eight passengers in a van travelling 30 kilometres each way would pay $94 each per month. TransLink spokesperson Jill Drews confirmed that no one signed up. TransLink invested about $12,000 in the pilot, which was the cost of its agreement with Modo.
