The HBO Max adaptation of John Green's best-selling novel TurtlesAllTheWayDown has cast Isabela Merced as its lead.
Casting has finally begun for Turtles All The Way Down, starting with Transformers: The Last Knight's Isabela Merced. The film is an adaptation of the John Green novel of the same name. Green has become a big name in young adult fiction in the past decade as the writer of The Fault In Our Stars and Paper Towns, both of which were later made into popular films.
Now, THR reports that Transformers actress Merced has been cast as protagonist Aza Holmes, a 17 year old girl struggling with anxiety. Exploring themes of mental health, the story of Turtles All The Way Down sees Aza reconnect with her childhood crush, which proves to be a life-changing event. The HBO adaptation will be produced by Temple Hill’s Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey and Isaac Klausner.
