The death is the second this week in the East Bay of someone hit by a train.
OAKLAND — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train Friday morning in the Fruitvale district, authorities said.
Authorities did not immediately specify the gender of the person killed. Their identity will be released after notification of their next of kin.Initial reports were that a person walking on the railroad tracks was struck by a train. Officials have not yet said if it was an Amtrak train or a freight train.
