Tragic end to search: Remains of missing 6-year-old Mpumalanga boy found in grave
Exactly a month after Junior Mabandla went missing, police in Mpumalanga have discovered the remains of the 6-year-old boy buried in a grave.
Following the gruesome discovery of his remains at a gravesite on Wednesday, an 18-year-old man was arrested in connection with the case.He is currently receiving medical treatment under police guard after he was reportedly assaulted by community members, according to Mpumalanga provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdhluli.
He said:"Eventually, members of the police reached a place where it is believed the little boy could have been buried.""Thereafter members also arrived at the cemetery and then found the said man with some injuries. The man was taken to a medical facility for treatment while police were shown a grave where the remains of Junior were kept.""We don't know the motive yet and the alleged suspect who is under police guard still has to be formally charged.
