The Congress of Traditional Leaders of South Africa (Contralesa) proposed a two-year moratorium to allow stakeholders to develop a plan to prevent future deaths. Contralesa expressed shock and concern over the recurring fatalities, stating that the issue had reached national disaster proportions.
They urged for a comprehensive review and implementation of practical solutions to address the problem. Contralesa also called for the arrest of those responsible for the deaths
