“Good for her,” Jones said of Fingers. “If you can pop out a jump like that on your last one, that’s amazing. She definitely deserves it and I have two more years to go.” Jones finished fifth in the long jump last year when Smithson Valley was in 6A. She was also part of the Rangers’ silver-medal 1,600-meter relay with Favour Uduji, Mia Perez and Jazmyn Singh that clocked 3 minutes, 44.59 seconds to set a San Antonio area record.
