A cleaner and two EMS workers were hospitalized after exposure to a suspected toxic substance, while three law enforcement officers were injured in a car accident in Delft.

A cleaner and two metro Emergency Management Services ( EMS ) workers are being treated in hospital after coming into contact with a suspected toxic substance in Cape Town . The City of Cape Town 's Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson, Jermaine Carelse, said the unit responded to a call about a woman who collapsed in Ndabeni on Friday. 'The cleaner had opened the bottle that contained a mixture of cleaning chemicals and after smelling it, started to vomit.

Two metro EMS personnel who treated her were also affected. The cleaner and one of the medical personnel were taken to N1 City Hospital for further treatment and assessment.'In a separate incident, three law enforcement officers were injured in a car accident in Delft. Law Enforcement Advancement Programme (LEAP) spokesperson Wayne Dyason said the incident is being investigated. 'The driver of a Delft LEAP vehicle lost control of the vehicle earlier this morning . The vehicle left the roadway, then hit a tree and a street lamp. Three officers sustained various injuries and received medical attention,' said Dyason
