Toronto selects new police chief; 32-year veteran of the force
After an unprecedented two-year search, the Toronto police board has announced the city’s next police chief is a longtime veteran of the force, Acting Deputy Chief Myron Demkiw.
in a violent rampage that began in Mississauga and continued in Milton Monday before the gunman was shot dead by police. On Twitter Thursday, Demkiw thanked the board for its confidence in him and acknowledged his uniform and civilian colleagues.
