Toronto police are warning the community about rental scams as they look for a suspect in aPolice believe that a man, identified as Christopher Lancop, 36, had been advertising apartments for rent online without authorization between July and November 2022. He allegedly defrauded multiple people by collecting deposits and rent money from them.

Lancop, who also goes by the name Christian John Merner, is described as five-foot-ten-inches, 170 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes.Police believe there are more victims and urge anyone with information to contact them.
