Toronto Island ferry service has resumed after a boat crash at the terminal dock injured 12 Saturday. Toronto police said on Twitter that officers responded to calls of a collision in the Queens Quay West and Bay Street area on Saturday afternoon.

Toronto paramedics told the Star they had 12 people with minor injuries, including two children, taken to hospital. City of Toronto spokesperson Alex Burke said the city is aware of “a ferry docking incident this evening involving the Sam McBride ferry that resulted in injuries.”Ferry service has been reduced “until further notice,” he said.
Burke said the “focus of operations is bringing passengers back to the ” from the island and that passengers “travelling between Jack Layton Ferry Terminal and Toronto Island should be prepared for a significant wait.”City staff will be conducting a full investigation, according to Burke. “Prior to resuming full operations, will require an inspector to sign off on the proper safety procedures and measures.
