Officials also confirmed that the death toll across Houston and Harris County has risen to five.
In a rare joint press conference, Mayor Whitmire and Harris Co. Judge Lina Hidalgo united to give an update on the impact of storms in Houston on Friday.
Officials told ABC13 that the death toll has risen to five. Four people were killed in the city of Houston. A woman and her pet in the Cypress area were killed in a mobile home fire. At least 10 transmission lines were down, including seven in Harris County. The organization said it might take weeks to restore power, just like after Hurricane Ike in 2008.
