U.S. Army Gen. Mark A. Milley has delivered a message to Ukrainian soldiers at a new training program in Germany: These are urgent times.

Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said Monday afternoon as he met with commanders.
The U.S. has conducted training at Grafenwoehr for years, including for allied forces in Europe. But limited instruction for Ukrainian forces began last year, shortly after the Russian invasion. At the time, it was focused on weapons systems that were being supplied by the U.S., such as the howitzer.
On Monday, as he walked through the training area, Milley bantered with troops, asking them about their combat experience and talking to them about their mission.
