The top seven "ultimate" Scottish staycation spots have been revealed in new research, including destinations such as St Andrews, Stonehaven, and Glenrothes.

Through this, it has revealed the "ultimate" Scottish staycation spots.
Coming in second place is Stonehaven, well known for its stunning harbour and picturesque coastline. According to Lottie, the town is among the most affordable holiday spots in Scotland, and offers a range of activities to keep you occupied. North Ayrshire comes in fifth place, and according to Lottie, demand for breaks in the council area has risen by 50 per cent in the last year. It offers not only "open countryside and green moorlands", but also watersports activities for thrill-seekers on its coast.
Care Expert and Co-Founder of Lottie Will Donnelly commented: “Our research has found that several coastal locations appear in our list of the top seven best holiday destinations in Scotland - including Haddington - which has been crowned the ultimate location for a break in Scotland.
