The ANC's first deputy secretary-general Nomvula Mokonyane has called on former president Thabo Mbeki to stop criticising, and instead give counsel to President Cyril Ramaphosa as he leads the party and the country. | JKwritingz
Mokonyane's statement came ahead of the ANC's much-anticipated meeting with Mbeki, who recently wrote to the party to raise his concerns over its handling of allegations that undeclared US dollars were stolen from Ramaphosa's Phala Phala farm.
Speaking to journalists on Monday during the 30th anniversary commemorations of the assassination of former SACP leader Chris Hani, Mokonyane said the ANC leadership looked forward to having constructive engagement with Mbeki and hoped that, after the discussions, he would rather start giving guidance to Ramaphosa.Get 14 days free to read all our investigative and in-depth journalism.
