Tomball ISD Athletic Director Vince Sebo to retire in August

Tomball ISD Athletic Director Vince Sebo Vince Sebo announced his retirement in April, which will be effective later this summer. Sebo spent six years in the district and leaves a big footprint. When Vince Sebo arrived at Tomball ISD six years ago, above all, he wanted to turn the program around, make staff changes and improve facilities.Tomball ISD Teachers of the Year announced

Sebo said that left an imprint and made him start thinking about wanting to be an athletic director. From there, he went to Nimitz High and coached for two years. Sebo thought he could turn the program around and felt they would get the support for a new stadium by producing results. “I think that’s something that’s got to be done in order to compete with the other districts around you because people have options, they have choices, they look at what you have to offer,” Sebo said.

Not everyone is going to Division 1 also, Sebo said, as there’s seven athletes who’ll be competing at service academies. That to Sebo is huge. “I don’t feel like it was a job, I never felt like I had a job,” Sebo said. “I have a passion for kids, I feel like I’m a visionary and I always wanted to make things better for the student athletes.”Sebo doesn’t plan on completely retiring and wants to be involved in something somewhere.
