Despite not wearing it in the Smallville series finale, Tom Welling reveals that he is finally game to wear the iconic DC super-suit. One of the many actors to play Superman in live-action was Welling as he starred in Smallville for a decade, telling the ultimate Clark Kent origin story before becoming the Man of Steel.

You know, I think now because of the two boys that I have with my lovely wife...we have a bunch of costumes at home. It started out at the first Halloween and now we have, I don't know, 40 or 50 costumes. The one costume we don't have is the Superman costume. I asked my son why and he said, 'Because he's taken' and I said, 'By who?' 'By .' That was like, 'Alright, I think I'm open to the idea now.

Having Smallville back in any capacity through live-action could also address the fate of Welling's Superman after the events of Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover. This way, Clark could have his powers back now following his Arrowverse cameo, which would justify him being back in a suit. With the many versions of Superman costumes that exist in the lore, a live-action Smallville revival could tap into any of the iterations that would fit Welling's older Superman.
