As Tom Stoltman observes, at 6ft 8ins and 28st he is not blending in. His chest extends to 66 inches, an expanse so great one tape measure is insufficient to capture it. His thighs are the girth of most male waists, 34ins.
What is it with Poles? Stoltman, one of three colossal brothers, has Polish ancestry. Luke is the elder by 10 years and a fellow strongman competitor. Harry, a mere 6ft 6ins, is the youngest and just breaking into the field. Four inches shorter than Tom, Luke describes himself as the runt of the litter.
. “Our mum had to battle. It wasn’t a well known thing when Tom was five or six. There were behavioural issues, a lot of confusion. With Tom everything had to be very much routine, this is what we are doing. It was in secondary school that mum went down the diagnosis route. My role as big brother was to kind of make sure Tom was okay.”
