An Ottawa voice, heard on the other side of the world

In October of 1991, I found myself in the small Indian town of Pushkar, a lovely, spiritual place with a very laid-back vibe.

As I resumed my exploration of town, I began to feel a lovely euphoric sensation creeping through my body. This sensation continued to build in intensity, and it suddenly seemed important to return to the safety of my lodging, the Pushkar Palace Hotel. Stumbling up the hill toward my destination was a Herculean task, with feet like lead blocks and a head full of Jell-O.

As the music slowed, and began to fade, a familiar voice boomed over the airwaves, “This is the top Six at Six with Robert W. Knight. The Queensway is the world’s largest parking lot at the moment….” I couldn’t believe my ears!
