Don’t be surprised if you see young teens around your workplace today
It’s Take Our Kids to Work Day, where students across Canada spend a day in the life of a working professional.The Rainbow District School Board said in a press release that its Grade 9 students will spend the day at work shadowing a parent, relative, friend or volunteer host.
Now in its 28th year, the Take Our Kids to Work program provides Grade 9 students with the opportunity to experience the world of work as they begin to explore possible career paths. The Learning Partnership began the program in Ontario in 1994, and has since expanded to reach students in all provinces and territories. The Student Commission of Canada, a charitable organization that works to empower young people, their peers and communities, will host the annual program in the future.
