WINE BUSINESS | Toasting to SA wine's next frontier: Resort wine, a luxe island niche
All the more reason to bring the island to the world. On a recent media trip to the island of Mauritius , under the auspices of the luxury hotel group Constance Hotels and Resorts, a company that started life as a group of sugar cane farmers and resorted to hospitality when the EU sugar quotas ended. Today, they represent luxury resorts and hotels throughout the Indian Ocean, including Mauritius , the Maldives, Seychelles, Madagascar, and Rodrigues recently added to their portfolio.
We were there to celebrate the traditional Burgundian Harvest Celebration La Paulée and preside over the Best Sommelier of La Paulée Competition hosted every year.
