Amid the mad dash, a panel of experts heading the investigation fronted a press pack this evening and gave an update on the search.He said: "There is an enormous complexity associated with this case, due to the location being so far off shore and the coordination between multiple agencies and nations."The noises have been described as banging noises.
Olivier Lefort, the head of naval operations at Ifremer, the state-run French ocean research institute which operates the robot, said: "Victor is not capable of lifting the submarine up on its own."
