On Sunday, Kazuyoshi Miura eclipsed his own record as the oldest active professional footballer when he made an appearance for fourth-tier side Suzuka Point Getters, with the former Japan international doing so at 55 years and 225 days old. Miura entered the pitch in the 76th minute, helping his side secure a 1-0 win over Criacao Shinjuku with a Japan Football league record crowd of 16 218 in attendance to watch the Japanese legend.

Despite the Suzuka Point Getters securing victory, it is claimed the biggest cheer of the day was reserved for Miura, who turns 56 in February 2023. After reaching the impressive landmark, the veteran spoke about his latest accomplishment in the football sphere.
