The Marten family have been living in two makeshift tents for at least four years, after empty promises to repair their home which was damaged in a storm.The tiny settlement of Platfontein outside Kimberley in the Northern Cape is extremely easy to miss. Despite being only 15km outside the province’s capital and having a population of about 7 000 San people, there’s not a single direction marker at any of the city’s exit roads indicating how to get there.
