‘Tinderbox’: Heat wave sparks concern among experts over Alberta’s wildfire outlook abfire
In recent days, fire restrictions and outright bans have proliferated throughout the province’s north. But in the south and around Calgary, counties and municipalities have mainly chosen fire advisories, which don’t prohibit open blazes.
Local governments should be implementing more fire bans in the province, said an expert in fire-risk reduction and restoration.
