Heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to hit parts of the UK and Greater Manchester over the weekend. The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for Greater Manchester, for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
While we can expect to see some rain showers on Friday, the storms are expected to start around 10am on Saturday and later in the afternoon on Sunday. There will still be some sunny and driers spells in between over the course of the weekend. The Met Office warning reads: "Heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected on Saturday, during the morning mainly over parts of England before becoming mainly focused over northern England and Scotland by late afternoon/evening.
"Yellow warnings can be issued for a range of weather situations. Many are issued when it is likely that the weather will cause some low level impacts, including some disruption to travel in a few places.
