He's back! 🐯 Tiger Woods posts a strong front 9 in the first round of the Genesis Invitational in his PGA Tour return and his first competitive round of golf since last July.
The 47-year-old Woods has played in three major tournaments since a February 2021 rollover car crash in which he sustained multiple serious leg injuries. His last competitive round of golf came last July at The Open Championship, where he missed the cut at 9-over after two rounds.Woods — a 15-time major champion — owns 82 career PGA Tour wins, tied for the most all time.
Off the course, Woods teamed up with McIlroy to launch TGL last fall, a team-based “prime-time golf league” that will work in partnership with the PGA Tour. The currently includes names like Collin Morikawa, Adam Scott, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas and Matt Fitzpatrick in addition to Woods and McIlroy. The league is set to begin play in January 2024.
